Welcome to Tanzania Health Opportunities (THO), where local efforts create a global impact. Our non-profit organization is dedicated to providing healthcare services in disadvantaged communities across Tanzania. Our team of passionate healthcare volunteers conducts community healthcare screenings and treatments during our outreach programs, aiming to help over 500 people daily.
Our primary goal is to make healthcare accessible to people who cannot afford to access it. Through THO medical missions, important screenings, education, and doctor consultations are made possible.
Additionally, we raise awareness about emerging healthcare problems, including communicable diseases such as HIV and malaria, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Tanzania Health Opportunities (THO) is a team of diverse licensed professionals, volunteers, and students. We travel to rural areas to set up temporary medical clinics, offering basic medical check-ups, dental check-ups/oral health education, counseling and psychotherapy sessions, and eye screenings. These services are provided free of charge to patients who cannot access healthcare or doctor consultations due to their location or financial status. We are grateful to all who support the program.
We participate in community health fairs to raise awareness about communicable and non-communicable diseases and the importance of regular health check-ups.

This initiative aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to residents of the Chamazi area. The screening primarily focused on assessing HIV, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes, eye vision problems (noting that some students could not focus on their studies due to poor vision), and dental care check-ups. We thank all the volunteers who fundraised for the event and everyone who participated in delivering healthcare to these communities.
At Tanzania Health Opportunities (THO), we are dedicated to promoting health equity, particularly for underserved communities. On June 19, 2024, our team visited the Chakuwama Orphanage Center to provide essential healthcare services to the children and staff residing there. During our visit, we conducted medical, dental, and eye check-ups, as well as testing for malaria and urinary tract infections (UTIs). We saw 76 children and staff in total, offering consultations and treatment with general physicians. The children were thrilled to meet the doctors and receive care.
Our outreach program requires approximately € 1,500 to screen and offer healthcare services to over 500 individuals per day. A donation of just € 5 can enable our volunteer team to provide healthcare services to one patient who otherwise would not have access to medical care.
We invite potential partners, institutions, organizations, and individuals who share our commitment and Mission to improving community healthcare services to support this initiative. Your contributions can make a profound difference in the lives of these communities.
We also welcome healthcare volunteers and professionals to join us in our community outreach/medical camps and other volunteer programs.
